The purpose of Dakota ASSETS is to recruit, prepare, certify, support, and retain candidates to fill teaching positions in high need schools in South Dakota.  Scholarships are available to qualified candidates to help pay for tuition, transportation, childcare, and living needs.

Dakota ASSETS is funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by Technology and Innovation in Education (TIE), a division of Black Hills Special Services Cooperative. TIE works in partnership with the South Dakota Department of Education, Black Hills State University, South Dakota Teach for America, Sinte Gleska University, Oglala Lakota College, and area school districts to help fill a critical need for great teachers in high need schools in South Dakota .
