Black Hills State University

Across South Dakota and the nation, according to Department of Labor projections, the need for special education teachers will remain high for decades.  School districts, large and small, too frequently open their academic years unable to fill positions.  BHSU is working to make available highly-qualified special educators through this endorsement offering, aimed at certified elementary or secondary teachers who have been teaching three years or more.  Coursework is delivered online.  Participants take a block of 24 special education hours.  Most can be expected to complete the coursework in a year and a half, while working full time.
